May 6 - An Object

This challenge actually was sort of tough for me because "an object" can be quite literally anything. My day was somewhat busy, but I looked around my house and looked outside, and debated a bit while driving to and from my doctor appointment. Finally, earlier this evening, I decided to capture one of my favorite things to put in a photograph - book pages. Black and white photos of book pages with just a few words in focus is just so aesthetically pleasing to look at, for me at least. It's somewhat geometric and I love the contrast of the words on the pages. There's also a sense of mystery when only a handful of words are in focus, especially if you are not familiar with the book; did they choose to put certain words in focus or choose a certain page for a reason? Or did they just flip to a random page and quickly snap the photo? It's a very brief yet intriguing look into the potential mind of the photographer.

For those wondering, this particular book is the first book from the A Song of Fire and Ice series, and I really did just flip open a page and snap a quick photo. I needed to get my son to bed so I was running out of time and needed something that didn't require too much setup! I've watched the Game of Thrones series three times now (it's just SO good and I never want it to end!) and I've really wanted to get into the books. It's been hard to find time to read between mom life and going back to school, but I'll get there! I'll just take gorgeous pictures of the text in the meantime. 😁
