So I was on a nature walk along a local river and spotted all these gorgeous swallowtail butterflies clustered around something on the ground, and instantly thought yessss photo op! Low and slow, I started inching towards them and managed a few pictures as I got closer, then finally as I got right over them, only one decided to stick around for a photo shoot.

The butterfly started striking poses and I was snapping away then I realized what I was actually looking at - a decomposing fish head. I know right...yuck. I thought butterflies only snacked on flowers!?! I kind of wish I could have seen my own face. But they were going crazy over this fish head! So I finished taking pictures then started backing away, and the rest of the gang returned to their feast.

Definitely one of the coolest and grossest things I've ever seen. Nature is wild. Cheers!
